David - an incredible post. Lovely to see the land and the mountains you look out to. While the mountains in snow look very chilly to me, the promise of the melt next year and the fun to be had on the Red Deer River next rafting season must give you happy thoughts and dreams.

i always pray to god for the safety of all my raft guests everytimes b4 we start the trip. Every trip was a challenge to me bcos water level and character change frequently.

In all my years of traveling this road with you - I have never seen that many wild horses - especially at one time.

At first I thought it was somebody's herd open ranging - then when you said they were wild - well....I was astonished!

Seeing the second group on the other side of the river made me wonder if there was something happening in the mountains that had sent them down onto the plains.

It was a cold day. Watching that weather system come in made me feel kinda sorry for the people out on the river. I knew they were in for some snow and hail. Luckily they were mostly related!
