The Snow keeps falling in the mountains.

10:44 AM, Posted by Unknown, No Comment

The rafting season is creeping ever closer. The latest heavy snow falls have done wonders for the snow pack in the mountains.  Check out the chart for the snow pack levels at the headwaters of the Red Deer River.

That should get everyone excited. The dramatic change in the chart readings is really appreciated at this time of year because the snow is denser and has a higher water content. With two more months of potential snowfalls to happen in the mountains this is looking very good for the rafting season.

Planning a group outing?

4:39 PM, Posted by Unknown, No Comment

The family day holiday weekend is over. I guess when people were together they started planning for a group outing for this coming season. This is based on all the calls that came into Otter Rafting I over the weekend. So, if you're thinking about getting a group organized, it's not too early to start making plans. There is much more snow in the mountains than here in Sundre. The river is going to offer a great ride again this year.

White Water Rafting Warm Up

3:19 PM, Posted by Unknown, No Comment

The summer paddling season is a few months a way and nice to think of on a cold winters day. To quell your longing for getting on the river and paddling, here’s something to get you ready for some rafting and satisfy those pre-season needs.

At Otter Rafting Adventures we operate a little different than this game. We try to have just as many paddlers finish the day on the river, as those who start out in the morning.

So grab a paddle, put on a wetsuit and have FUN!!
