Rafting Prediction Report for End of March.

1:33 PM, Posted by Unknown, No Comment

The snow pack in the mountains is still building.

We are following the monitoring station at Skoki Lodge which is the main source of the Red Deer River. The snow is still accumulating in the mountains. As of today, they have received more snowfall than the average amount of snowfall for the whole winter season! And there still is a month to accumulate yet. This is going to be a fantastic year! We should have great water all summer and 'high water season' is going to be a BLAST!!

For all you 'high water junkies' - we are already taking bookings and as always - seats are limited! So book your trip now and take a deep breath - you're going to need it!

Rafting Prediction Report for Mid March.

1:03 PM, Posted by Unknown, No Comment

The snow pak in the mountains is building very well.

We are following the monitoring station at Skoki Lodge which is the main source of the Red Deer River. As of today, they have received more snowfall than the total amount for all of last winter! This says we will have more water in the river than last year - great news. Last year was fun and this year should be even better.

Winter isn’t over so there is more snow to fall in the mountains yet.

Things are looking very good. YAHOO

River Guides Wanted

10:52 AM, Posted by Unknown, No Comment

With the white water rafting season on the radar we are starting to get many resumés for the great job as a rafting guide.

We are looking for some full time, experienced guides to help us put on an incredible rafting outing for our many guests. Many of our guests know how much a good guide can contribute to the rafting experience.

Our season is short, like our summers, so expect to be out on the river often and having a ton of fun playing on the river with all your paddlers. On a more serious note, please have all required tickets (First aid/CPR, river rescue) and resumés with references to be considered for a position. We are also looking for part-time guides, trainees and support staff. If you want to be involved in an exciting industry that can lead to world wide travel and employment, this can be your dream job.

For those who would like some insight into the attraction of rafting and the type of people who gravitate to this sport, check out “So you want my Job”. I have seen people from all walks of life who have been interested in taking others paddling down the river, showing them a good time and challenging the river on a daily basis. Did you know this is a 100th year anniversary for Mark Twain - he (got) the attraction of the river as well.P7240115
